Bradford Bulls have agreed an exchange deal with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats by swapping utility back Kieran Hyde for teenage scrum-half Cain Southernwood.
Southernwood, 17, has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Bulls, while Hyde, 20, moves to Belle Vue on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Wildcats coach John Kear said: "Kieran is very talented, with real pace. In the long term we see him at full-back.
"Cain has great ability but his first-team prospects here were limited."
Kear added: "Kieran is further advanced in his development and will be challenging for a first team place soon."
