Chris Bridge returned to haunt his former club with 24 points as Warrington claimed their first league double over Bradford in 25 years.

Bridge was the star as Warrington recovered from a 24-8 deficit by running in 36 points without reply.

The Bulls were in a commanding position early in the second half after tries from Lesley Vainikolo, Jamie Peacock, Stuart Reardon and Iestyn Harris.

But the visitors stormed back to leave their hosts utterly shell-shocked.

First, Bridge combined with Martin Gleeson, another former Bradford player, to put in loose forward Paul Noone.

And then Toa Kohe-Love, yet another former Bulls star, scored and before Bradford had a chance to recover substitute forward Paul Wood was over the line.

Bridge converted all three tries to put Warrington 26-24 ahead after 57 minutes.

Warrington stretched their advantage when prop Danny Lima crashed over and Bridge rounded off his great personal day with a fine solo try and another goal after 73 minutes.

Bradford's nightmare was completed in the final minute when winger Henry Fa'afili scored after intercepting a pass from Harris.

  • Warrington coach Paul Cullen:
"We are happy to chew up those statistics and spit them out.

"Bradford dominated at one stage but we didn't panic and just stuck at it.

"This is a clear indication of our character and ability. This team now knows how to fight."

  • Bradford coach Brian Noble:
"We have to start finding how to maintain our intensity for 80 minutes instead of 55 minutes.

"It is fair to say there was an element of 'clocking-off' after we went 24-8 ahead."

Noble also plans to look into why an apparent Wolves forward pass was not picked up, saying: "I'd like to know why the referee apparently overruled it."

Bradford: Withers, Pratt, Reardon, K. Pryce, Vainikolo, I. Harris, Paul, Vagana, Deacon, Fielden, Peacock, Parker, Radford.
