London Broncos secured their place in the end-of-season play-offs with a thrashing of relegated Widnes.

The Broncos will face Bradford Bulls at Odsal next Friday after winning their last game at Griffin Park.

Luke Dorn ran in four tries as London scored 38 unanswered points before the break and added three more tries within seven minutes of the re-start.

Widnes, down to their last 18 players, were never in it, even when Brad Watts pulled a try back with 22 minutes left.

  • London coach Tony Rea:
"This has been a good day because we could not have handled the situation we were in any better than we did.

"It's a good indication going into next week that we handled pressure really well. We will show up ready for Bradford but we are aware who the favourites will be going into the game.

"Luke Dorn has fitted into what we are about really well, he was looking for what he has got out of this club, it's been a really good move for his career.

"People now know who he is and what he is about, I have a lot of respect for him."

  • Widnes coach Frank Endacott:
"I thought we were very poor, but we were never in the game from the time we stepped off the coach.

"I have got too many good memories from my career to worry about this defeat, I am not going to blame anybody we have got to suffer it as a team.

"I would obviously have liked a better end to the season but we have gone through 38 players, and we never had the depth in the squad to cope with that.

"We had five guys from the under-21s iand they coped with the game to the best of their abilities even though we were on the end of a thrashing."
