Millward proud of Cunningham

Wakefield 15-36 St Helens

St Helens boss Ian Millward has praised the way Keiron Cunningham has played since his positive drugs test came to light.

Cunningham received a one-year suspended ban after traces of hormone substance HCG were found in a urine sample.

But Cunningham was in fine form as Saints beat Wakefield 36-15 earning the backing of Millward.

Keiron's come back from a career-threatening injury
Ian Millward
"People have no idea about what's happened. I am really proud of Keiron. A lot of things have been said about him and that he wasn't an innocent victim.

"Keiron's come back from a career-threatening injury, and he will be a better player for what has happened. He is a really focused player."

Wakefield coach Shane McNally was happy with his side's effort, especially the contribution of his youngsters.

"The three young blokes who came into the squad from the Under-21s this week - Mark Field, Matt Blake and Darren Jordan - even gave up days off work so they could train with the first team squad. That's commitment to the cause."

Huddersfield 30-14 Hull

Shaun McRae, coach of Hull, said he knew his below-strength team would lose at Huddersfield before the match kicked off.

McRae was without eight regulars and five others defied injuries to play while centre Toa Kohe-Love was ruled out for the season with a recurrence of a partially-dislocated shoulder.

I don't think we'll see him again and I think he's got a career problem

"There was no way we were going to win today," he said.

"From the moment we warmed up today, I didn't like our chances."

McRae now believes Kohe-Love has played his last game for Hull and fears for his future.

"I don't think we'll see him again and I think he's got a career problem," he said.

Huddersfield coach Tony Smith was bouyed by the display of loose forward Steve McNamara in their 30-14 win.

"That's got to be close to his best game this year but he's has some pretty big influences on us this season."

Warrington 66-6 Halifax

Warrington boss Paul Cullen paid tribute to his side's professionalism after they thumped Halifax 66-6.

It was a very professional and very honest performance
Paul Cullen
"It was a decent day's work. We paid Halifax a lot of respect but it was a very professional and very honest performance.

"We set our stall out in the first set of six tackles and hope we can continue the good work against Wigan next week," Cullen said.

Leeds 27-22 London

London coach Tony Rea was in upbeat mood despite his side's defeat to Super League leaders Leeds on Friday.

"I'm real happy. It's been a good night for us and a moral victory," said Rea, who was full of praise for his player.

"They showed amazing character, especially after we lost Bill Peden and Richard Marshall in the first five minutes and then had a bloke in the sin bin."

I thought London were fantastic in the second half
Daryl Powell

The Broncos trailed 14-0 at one stage before going down 27-22 at Headingley.

The fightback was sparked by full-back Dennis Moran, who defied a knee injury sustained in Tuesday's 32-16 win over Huddersfield to score a brace of tries, taking his total for the season to 16.

"Dennis probably shouldn't have played," said Rea. "There was a fair bit of wincing but he got his reward and the club thanks him dearly for his efforts."

Leeds coach Daryl Powell was happy with the victory but had plenty of praise for the Broncos.

"I thought London were fantastic in the second half," he said. "They looked to be fitter than us and they played a game three days ago, which is disappointing."
