On Wednesday we heard the disappointing news that the decision to deduct two points from St Helens for a breach of the salary cap was being upheld.
The verdict was not wholly unexpected, although obviously we were hoping to get the points back.
To be honest, the playing squad have not been involved in the dispute - that is the board's concern.
All the players can do is concentrate on playing rugby and winning points on the field.

Obviously it would have been great to have won those points back - our deficit to leaders Leeds would then have been cut to seven points.
I expect our board to fight the decision - everyone at Saints is sure that we have been short-changed.
Two points could prove absolutely crucial the way the season is panning out.
But our destiny is still in our own hands and the playing squad is just concentrating on winning every game so we can finish as high up the table as possible.
Thankfully we are hitting form at just the right time after a mixed bag of results.
We have had four decent wins in a row and, with Leeds and Bradford having slipped up recently, suddenly St Helens are the form team in Super League.
It is nice to be proving a few of our doubters wrong, although we know that there is still a long way to go.
The spirit at the club has never been in doubt and we have never questioned each other's ability.
The team is playing with a lot more confidence. Unlike earlier in the season, everyone is looking forward to the next game again.
A player who has impressed me over the last week is Castleford's Danny Orr.
Danny is a great player and will prove to be an excellent signing for Wigan.
Although he was on the losing side when St Helens and Castleford met at The Jungle, he was outstanding.
All eyes were on him and there were a few boo-boys among the home fans after Danny said he was definitely going to leave at the end of the season.
But he reacted superbly with a great hat-trick of tries.
Danny obviously has a huge affection for the club where he has spent the last seven years and I'm sure he is disappointed to be leaving.
But he's a good professional and there is no question that he will be giving his all for Cas in every single game until the end of the season.
