RF: "When St Helens picked up a loose ball close to their own line and instinctively moved it in the direction of South African flyer Tom Van Vollenhoven, few of their supporters could have contemplated a try being scored at the other end of the Wembley pitch.
"But thanks to an equally impressive example of running at high speed and a couple of well-timed passes from his centre partner, Ken Large, the Springbok was able to round Wigan full-back Fred Griffiths and evade the attentions of Eric Ashton before racing around beneath the posts for a sensational 90m try."
