Aussies will be tested next time
Great Britain star Paul Sculthorpe says Australia can expect a tough test next time they meet the Lions.
In his latest column, Great Britain star Paul Sculthorpe takes the positives out of the Lions' Ashes defeat and looks forward to the future.

As a team, we did some good things in the Wigan game, but on a personal level I was very disappointed.

My kicking was as not as sharp as it could have been, but I suppose these things happen.

In the week leading up to the final Test, we felt really confident.

Performed poorly

Our coach, David Waite, didn't change the system following the 40-12 defeat at Bolton.

We stuck pretty much with the same game plan employed in the second Test.

And although in Bolton we performed poorly, our tactics nearly came good in the final match.

We travel to Australia in June and I reckon we'll give the Kangaroos an even stiffer test

We certainly gave the Australians a run for their money, but, unfortunately, we conceded a try straight after the interval - for the second week in succession.

That was a big blow for us - we were the ones who should have scored first.

Bodes well

But the game wasn't over and credit to the lads because they dug in.

It's just a shame that there was no reward at the final hooter.

I think the Great Britain rugby team can only get better and over the last three weeks we showed that we can compete with the best.

We travel to Australia in June and I reckon we'll give the Kangaroos an even stiffer test - it all bodes well.
