Hull Sharks 56-6 Wakefield Wildcats

Hull recorded their biggest victory of the season as they launched into a 10-try demolition against the Wakefield Wildcats at the Boulevard.

The home side were missing key players, but still managed a comprehensive victory with half-back Richard Horne taking most of the limelight.

The 18-year-old capped an impressive all-round performance with a superb 70-metre individual try and made important contributions to three other tries and kicked 18 points with the boot.

Fans' favourite

Hull took the lead after five minutes when Adam Maher ran in for the first of his two tries and they increased their tally when fans' favourite Stanley Gene scored his 100th and 101st career tries.

The Wildcats only managed to breach the Hull defence once on 54 minutes when Jason Critchley squeezed into the corner.

Delighted Hull coach Shaun McRae said: "This was a superb performance by the boys. This time we turned pressure into points, something we haven't done enough this season.

"The youngsters we had to bring in did exceptionally well and I felt we played some superb football."

Hull: Poucher, Parker, Collins, Simon, Herron, Robinson, Horne, Broadbent, Jenkins, Felsch, Maher, Gene, Grimaldi. Replacements: Craven, Cooke, King, Wilson.

Wakefield: Prescott, Critchley, Maloney, Tatupu, Sodje, McNamara, Goulding, Masella, Speak, Jackson, Jowitt, Field, Price. Replacements: Tomlinson, Hudson, Fisher, Ellis.
