But the Giants fans are stunned into silence as Wolves full-back Richie Mathers puts Warrington 6-0 and minutes later, video referee Phil Bentham rules out Shaun Lunt's score for the Giants because of a double movement
But the Giants draw level when Lunt runs on to David Faiumu's subtle off-load to bundle over for a converted try in the 12th minute
But Warrington regain and extend their lead with two tries in four minutes through Michael Monaghan and Chris Hicks, although Vinnie Anderson needs treatment to close a nasty cut on his forehead
Huddersfield bruiser Eorl Crabtree attempts to punch holes in the Warrington defence from the replacements' bench, but is double-teamed by some seriously tough Warrington tackling
But Huddersfield's fleet-footed Australian full-back Brett Hodgson reduces the deficit to 18-10 before half-time with a well-taken try in at the corner
With Lee Briers pulling the strings at half-back, Warrington maintain the upper hand at the start of the second half in a fast-paced encounter
And Anderson - complete with an improvised headband to protect six stitches to his forehead - runs through Huddersfield's static defensive line to score Warrington's fourth try on the hour
Warrington captain Adrian Morley - the only player on either side to have won the Cup at the old Wembley, with Leeds in 1999 - puts in another energy-sapping run as the clock ticks down
