Northallerton Stallions coach Steve Worsnop is aiming for a top-half finish in the North East division of rugby league's Summer Conference this year. It is only the club's second season in the league after finishing bottom of the Yorkshire division last season. Worsnop told BBC Radio York: "At the beginning of the season if you'd have said to us you would finish in the top half then we'd have taken that. "I think we've every chance of doing that now." Stallions are currently fourth in the eight-team division and Worsnop believes being in the more competitive North East division has helped the club to progress.

We all recognise Northallerton Stallions is pretty much a work in progress

He said: "If we can continue going as we are going and we can manage to stay in the top half of the table and the top four, I think we can class that as a successful season. "We all recognise Northallerton Stallions is pretty much a work in progress, we've got a lot of lads who are new to the game and they're developing at their own pace. "I think that's our target for the rest of the season - to try and eliminate some of the basic errors we keep making and then we can start moving forward."
