Lee Briers and Vinnie Anderson scored two tries apiece as Warrington got the better of Castleford for their seventh win in their last eight games.
The home side led through efforts from Kirk Dixon and Richard Owen but trailed at the break after Briers and Louis Anderson both scored converted tries.
Briers and Matt King extended the lead after the break before Michael Shenton's try reduced the deficit.
Vinnie Anderson's double and a late Chris Hicks score boosted the Wolves.
Castleford coach Terry Matterson:
"We started off well, there was no Challenge Cup hangover.
"I don't know what happened and I'm very disappointed. We're not learning our lessons and can't play with any patience.
"We overplay every week. We're too innocent. We just want to play, play, play and there's no composure. It's frustrating."
Warrington coach Tony Smith:
"Tactically they got us a bit early on. I thought they were hurting us there for a little while and then we started to do something about it ourselves and started to play some of our own tactics and we came strong because of that.
"All credit to them in the first half, they tactically had us done and we had to make some adjustments, but their defence was nowhere near as strong as it was last week and they really made Huddersfield work for it.
"It wasn't quite the same today and they weren't able to sustain it. I'm happy about that and grateful it made it a bit easier for us than we first expected."
