National League Two side Oldham Roughyeds have named New Zealander Tony Benson as their new coach.
The former Leigh and London Skolars chief succeeds Steve Deakin, who left the club earlier this month after they failed to secure promotion.
Benson, 42, has agreed a one-year full-time contract with a one-year option which will be triggered if he leads Oldham to National League One for 2010.
"If we don't get promotion I'm out of a job, simple as that," said Benson.
"But I'm happy with that. I am excited and privileged to be joining a club with such a proud history and such a great tradition as Oldham.
"We both want to be operating in National League One in season 2010 while, further down the line, my aim is to be coaching in Super League and Oldham's intention is to be playing in Super League."
