Former Wigan full-back Steve Hampson has been appointed as Great Britain's fitness conditioner.
Hampson has worked with Andrew Flintoff and Darren Clarke
Hampson, who won 12 Great Britain caps, has previously worked in a similar role for Lancashire County Cricket Club and at rugby union outfit Sale.
He will "co-ordinate all aspects of physical conditioning for the squad in 2007", including the Tests against France and New Zealand this year.
"I am delighted to have been appointed to this position," said Hampson.
"I hope to be able to contribute to the future success of the Great Britain squad and cannot wait to begin preparations for the forthcoming matches."
Hampson joins former Bradford and Lions hooker James Lowes in the GB set-up.
Lowes was appointed by coach Tony Smith as trainer for the 2007 international programme.
