Former Wigan hooker Martin Hall is the new head coach of National League One side Halifax.
Hall, the Wales coach who was part of the Halifax squad that finished third in Super League in 1998, has signed a contract until the end of the season.
The 37-year-old takes over from Anthony Farrell, who was sacked this week after a run of poor results.
"He has had plenty of success at this level working with limited resources," said club director Michael Steele.
"We are very confident he is the right man to help this club back to the level we all believe we should be playing at."
Hall, who was briefly assistant to player-coach Gary Mercer in 2000, has been head coach at Rochdale Hornets and Hull Kingston Rovers.
