National League club Halifax have sacked coach Anthony Farrell after just over two years in the job.
The former Widnes, Leeds and Sheffield forward was under contract to the end of the year but paid the price for a string of disappointing performances.
Halifax suffered a club record 88-6 defeat at Hull KR earlier this season and currently stand sixth in the table.
"It was an extremely difficult decision because of the quality of the man," said director Michael Steele.
"People should remember he has done a hell of a lot for this club over the last two years."
