A dominant second-half display saw Celtic Crusaders ease to victory in their penultimate group game in the Northern Rail Cup at Bridgend's Brewery Field.
The Crusaders went ahead on eight minutes when Ryan Barton squeezed past the defence to score and Richard Johnson converted.
But Hemel Hempstead Stags equalised within minutes when Scott Roberts was held up a metre from the line and Callum Irving forced his way over from the play-the-ball.
The visitors took the lead on 17 minutes to put the Crusaders behind in a competitive match for the first time.
Gareth James failed to pick up a grubber kick and player-coach Troy Perkins pounced to score. Barry-John Swindells converted.
But the Crusaders re-grouped and ended the half with four tries in 13 minutes to put them ahead 28-10 at the interval.
Paul Morgan, Kevin Ellis, Karl Hocking and Grant Epton scored as the home side's superior fitness began to tell.
Geraint Davies extended the home side's lead after the break when he picked up a loose ball on his own ten-metre line and ran the length of the field for a try.
Hocking added his second soon after and Richard Johnson's conversion took the home side out of sight at 38-10.
The floodgates then opened as the Stags tired. Davies (two), Carl de Chenu, Lloyd O'Connor, Hocking and Scott O'Kelly took the Crusaders' try tally to 13.
Matt Walton scored for the Stags three minutes from time, but it was little consolation.
