Four ex-Wales and Great Britain internationals were on show at Aberavon on Sunday as Bridgend Blue Bulls easily beat the Fighting Irish 68-20 in the Premier Wales on Sunday.
Bridgend trio Allan Bateman, Kevin Ellis and John Devereux all scored first-half tries, while Mark Jones' surprise appearance for Aberavon failed to make any impact as the hosts were 40-0 down at half-time.
Karl Hocking gave the Blue Bulls the lead in the first minute, a try that saw the floodgates to open.
Jon Williams and Craig Fox also grounded for the visitors in the first half, the latter a 20-metre run past four defenders.
The deluge continued in the second half as Bridgend increased their lead to 52-0 after quick tries from Fox and Geraint Lewis.
But Aberavon at last got a try on the board in the 50th minute, Richard Lewis intercepting a pass and running 20 metres to ground.
Rob Melling added another for Aberavon just five minutes later, but any thoughts of a recovery were quashed when Gareth James (2) and Devereux all went over in the next 15 minutes.
Aberavon had the last say with tries from Mark Burke and a second for Lewis, but the game was beyond them by then.
Valley Cougars beat Swansea Valley Miners 38-18 in a contest between last year's bottom two sides.
Just a conversion separated the sides at half-time before Cougars took a grip in the second half.
Cougars were first on the board in the 10th minute, Neil Edwards with a try in the corner, but Steve John equalised for the visitors five minutes later.
Cougars made it 8-4 after Adrian Owen brushed off three defenders to ground, before Scott Cole brought things level again for Swansea.
David Andrews gave the Cougars the lead for the third time, placing the ball under the posts after a 40-metre run, converting his own try.
But Swansea hit back in injury time as Christian Roets barged through to reduce the deficit to 14-12.
The Miners took the lead for the first and only time in the game in the 54th minute through a Gethin Daniels try under the posts and Simon Bevan's conversion.
Their lead lasted for little more than two minutes ,as Mukeseli Jones scored the try of the match, weaving through the defence to level the scores.
New signing from Newport Jimmy Dingle gave Cougars the lead five minutes later, before tries from Robert James and Rhodri Morris (2) put the score out of Swansea's reach.
Roets' 60-metre run to the line in the last minute was just a consolation for the Miners.
Newport Titans claimed their second 42-16 win in as many weeks by beating Torfaen Tigers at Pontypool.
After beating the Cougars by the same score last week, the Titans laid down their claim as possible contenders to Bridgend's Welsh crown with a first-class display.
However, it was Torfaen who took the lead after five minutes when Jason Hill made a 20-metre run to the line, beating off three defenders.
Mark Wheeler levelled things up just minutes later with a similar run himself and from then on there was only one team in it.
Tries from Neil McKimm, John Griffiths and a brace from Paul Jones gave the visitors a 30-6 lead at half-time.
Torfaen almost staged a mini-recovery early in the second half with tries from Chris Landrey and Gareth Jenkins.
But a further try from Griffiths and one from Owen Jones put the score well out of the Tigers' reach.
