Australia's Darren Lockyer has won the 2003 Golden Boot as rugby league's worldwide player of the year.
Lockyer led Australia by example
At the weekend, the Brisbane Broncos full-back led the Kangaroos to their first Ashes series clean sweep against Great Britain for 17 years.
Lockyer, 26, who is widely regarded as the top full-back in the game, was a landslide winner in the poll of journalists organised by sponsors Rugby League World magazine.
He received his award before the tourists prepared to fly back to Australia on Monday.
He said: "To be up there as a winner alongside so many illustrious names is a real honour.
"It has been a great tour and this tops everything off nicely."
