Huddersfield edge to victory
Hefin O'Hare
O'Hare scored a brace in Huddersfield's win
Northern Ford Premiership leaders Huddersfield survived a late scare on their way to a 32-20 victory over Oldham.

A second-half fightback left the Giants hanging on at Hurst Cross, despite holding a 20-point half-time advantage.

Huddersfield's tries came from Hefin O'Hare (two), Paul Reilly, Darren Turner, Earl Crabtree and Andy Rice to seemingly take an unassailable lead.

But Huddersfield had hooker Turner sent off and Oldham scored tries through Will Cowell, John Goddard, Chris Campbell, Joey Hayes and Lee Durran to push the runaway leaders close.

Rochdale snatched a dramatic 30-28 win against Whitehaven thanks to a try from skipper Matt Calland at Spotland.

The visitors led for much of the game thanks to tries from Mark Cox, Gary Purdham, Leroy Joe and Lee Kiddie.

Adam Bristow
Bristol opened the scoring for Workington

But Hornets fought back through touchdowns from Brendan O'Mear, Damian Bell and David Larder before Calland struck twice to win it.

Workington's hopes of a top-nine finish have diminished after a 39-8 home defeat by second-in-the-table Leigh.

Adam Bristow opened the scoring for the visitors with further tries going to Simon Baldwin (two), John Duffy (two), Vila Matautia, David Highton and Neil Turley.

Brett McDermott claimed Workington's only touchdown.

Dewsbury, on the other hand, did their play-off chances the power of good with a 28-20 win over Doncaster.

Play-off hopes

Dragons had led through Jason Lee but Jim Leatham, Ryan Hardy, Frank Watene and Michael Wainwright put Dewsbury in control with further Doncaster tries from Chris Ross, Marvin Golden and Richard Baker scant consolation.

Hull Kingston Rovers destroyed Chorley 58-6 thanks to a hat-trick of tries from Alasdair McLarron.

Jimmy Walker claimed a brace of tries while Hull's rout was completed with touchdowns from Lynton Stott, Jon Wilkin, Mike Dixon, Paul Fletcher and Alex Godfrey.

Chorley's only points came via a Tim Street try, converted by Graeme Close.

Featherstone kept up their bid for an end-of-season play-off place with a 40-24 win at Swinton.

Gavin Swinson, Neil Lowe and Jamie Rooney (two) scored Rovers' first-half tries with Richard Newlove (two) and Rooney crossing in the second.

Lions' Jason Johnson scored a brace of tries with Dale Holdstock (two) and Dave Ellison also touching down.

Matt Leigh
Leigh's late try clinched victory for Barrow
Keighley scored a rare win in the north-east, beating Gateshead by 30-26 after overcoming a two-point half-time deficit.

Michael Walker scored two tries for the hosts with others coming from Paul Thorman, Richie Barnett and Craig Fisher.

Keighley's tries came from Mick Durham, Matt Firth, Simeon Hoyle, Dave Foster and James Rushforth.

Barrow clinched their sixth consecutive win with a 28-20 triumph at Hunslet.

A late try from Matt Leigh won it after earlier Barrow touchdowns from Phil Atkinson and Cliff Beverley (two).

Hunslet put up a stiff fight and Bryn Powell claimed a hat-trick of tries with Gareth Naylor also crossing.
