Molloy takes charge of Oldham
Oldham have turned to captain Steve Molloy to fill the gap left by coach John Harbin.

The 33-year-old prop becomes the Northern Ford Premiership club's third boss this season following the earlier defection of Mike Ford to rugby union.

Molloy will initially take charge of the Roughyeds until the end of the season.

"Steve needs to discover whether he can successfully combine coaching with playing," said Oldham chairman Chris Hamilton.

"If he can, our association will hopefully stretch beyond the end of the season."

Harbin quit Oldham to join football neighbours Oldham Athletic as fitness conditioner and sports psychologist.
