62 mins: Johns receives a rousing ovation as he is forced to limp off with an ankle injury.

27 mins: The Blues ram home their superiority with a third try, this time to Johns. The inspired captain has an easy run-in after another Hodgson break up the middle. Johns converts from in front of the posts.
23 mins: NSW stretch their lead with a superb second try from Jamie Lyon, who initially claims Johns' kick ahead. Jason Moodie and Johns, with an inspired inside pass, keep the move going for Lyon to follow up and plunge over. Johns again converts from wide out.
21 mins: Queensland almost score at the other end as Dane Carlaw is unable to claim Allan Langer's delicate chip through.
20 mins: Johns' kick through is claimed by Gorden Tallis, who loses the ball and Trent Barrett touches down, but referee Bill Harrigan rules that Tallis was dispossessed illegally.
19 mins: A dashing break from Hodgson launches NSW onto the offensive, but they lose the ball near the Quuensland line.
18 mins: Gidley's tackle on Petero Civoniceva prevents Queensland from scoring a second try.
13 mins: The Maroons build up some momentum for the first time, and hit back with a try from wing Lote Tuqiri, who holds off Johns' tackle to score in the left corner after Darren Smith's initial surge to the line. Clinton Schifcofske pulls the conversion wide.
