Mears takes swipe at Rhinos
Robbie Mears in action for Leeds
Mears had an unhappy time at Headingley
Former Leeds hooker Robbie Mears has hit out at the Super League club following his move to NRL side Wests Tigers.

The Australian broke his collarbone in his first game for the Rhinos and later had his jaw shattered after a horror tackle by St Helens forward Sonny Nickle.

But he claims the most disappointing aspect of his solitary season in Super League was the way he was treated by the club.

"I had my car broken into twice, my house burgled four times and the club didn't seem to care about making me feel part of the place," he said.

The 27-year-old, who has signed a one-year deal with the Tigers, was particularly upset about his treatment after being injured on his debut at Swinton.

"When I asked how I get home, the team manager told me to get a cab," Mears told The Australian. "It wasn't exactly what you would call a warm welcome."
