London Broncos 20-24 Hull

Hull loose-forward Jason Smith secured his side's first ever win in London with a try two minutes from time.

The Airlie Birds looked to be heading for another defeat in the capital when they trailed 20-18 with the clock ticking down.

But then the Broncos pressed the self-destruct button, giving away two successive penalties to hand the visitors prime field position.

Smith took full advantage when he crossed the line from dummy half to clinch victory.

Dazzled

The visitors started well and opened the scoring on four minutes thanks to a Steve Prescott penalty.

Broncos hooker Glen Air touched down after good work by Dennis Moran to put the home side into the lead, but the visitors pulled level on 25 minutes.

Matt Crowther scored after he dazzled the Broncos with his soccer skills following Jason Smith's clever kick.

David Maiden put the visitors back into the lead before half-time but three minutes after the break the Broncos hit back.

Slipped

French centre Sylvain Houles scored his first try for the club from Andy Johnson's pass.

Hull skipper Tony Grimaldi crossed to restore his side's six-point lead but London refused to lie down.

Moran slipped out of the grasp of two Hull tacklers to touch down and the Broncos regained the lead five minutes later.

Moran and Shane Millard combined to put Jim Dymock over before Smith popped up with his late, late effort to give Hull the points.
