Leigh dominance continues
Simon Svabic
Svabic kicked five goals as Leigh won again
Leigh stretched their lead at the top of the Northern Ford Premiership to 10 points with a 34-28 victory away to Sheffield.

Leigh dominated the first half and tries from Liam Bretherton, John Duffy, Adam Bristow, David Bradbury and Willie Swann put them in complete control.

But after the interval the Eagles outscored their hosts by three tries to one with scores from Wayne Flynn, Ricky Wright and winger Bright Sodje.

Substitute John Hamilton scored a vital try for Leigh after 57 minutes to keep them ahead, however, and Simon Svabic chipped in with five goals.

Anthony Gibbons plays a pass
Gibbons impressed for Oldham
Oldham moved up to second place with a 38-4 victory over depleted Keighley, who dropped to third.

Hooker Keith Brennan and Anthony Gibbons both scored two tries as Oldham piled on the points in the last 20 minutes.

Cash-strapped Keighley were forced to field a team that included several members of their Alliance side plus three Oldham area amateurs, signed on trial shortly before kick-off.

Hull KR's rugby union convert Alasdair McLarron scored four tries in a 40-6 mauling of Chorley.

Workington deservedly took the points at Rams Stadium as Dewsbury suffered their second home defeat in a row.

Tries from Lee Allen, Jamey Beaumont, Fata Sini and Kevin Hetherington were enough to ensure a 22-16 victory for Town.

Bottom side Gateshead Thunder conceded three tries in the last 10 minutes as Featherstone returned to winning ways with a comfortable 38-7 victory.

And Whitehaven maintained their play-off hopes with an emphatic 54-6 victory at struggling York.
