Fittler suspended for bad tackle
Brad Fittler takes on Brisbane
Fittler was penalised for a bad tackle against Brisbane
Australia's rugby league captain Brad Fittler has been suspended for two matches for violent conduct.

Fittler pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a charge of slamming an opponent's head into the ground during a club match.

Fittler, who captains Sydney Roosters in Australia's top flight national league, appeared before the National Rugby League judiciary.

He had been cited for slamming opposite number Scott Prince's head into the ground during a tackle in the Roosters' narrow win against Brisbane last Friday.

After accepting his first suspension in a 13-season senior career, Fittler apologised to Prince.

"It certainly was not an intentional act... but I admit it was an inappropriate tackle," Fittler said.

He will miss the Roosters' next matches against Melbourne and the New Zealand Warriors.
