Dragons lack fire
Danny Arnold
Former Saint Danny Arnold scored two tries for Oldham
Doncaster suffered their first loss of the season at Featherstone Rovers and missed the chance to take over at the top of the Northern Ford Premiership.

James Bunyon scored a 13th-minute try for the Dragons but Rovers hit back to win 34-4 and climb into the top eight.

Rovers were inspired by scrum-half Jamie Rooney, who collected two tries and landed five goals from seven attempts to wreck Doncaster's hopes of their first victory at Featherstone for 34 years.

With leaders Keighley having their match postponed, unbeaten Leigh drew level on points with a 46-4 win over Swinton that ended the Lions' undefeated record.

After 18 minutes of stalemate, Leigh cut loose with a scoring burst of 34 points in 22 minutes.

Widnes woe

Full-back Neil Turley touched down twice on his way to a hat-trick and there were other tries from Dave Whittle, John Hamilton, Alan Hadcroft and Dave Jones as the Centurions had the match won by half-time.

Former St Helens and Huddersfield winger Danny Arnold crowned his Oldham home debut with two tries in the last eight minutes to help the Roughyeds to a 20-12 win over Widnes and make it four wins out of four.

Widnes, 8-0 down after 12 minutes, hit back through former Oldham scrum-half Martin Crompton, Phil Coussons and Damien Munro.

But the Vikings' lack of a recognised goal-kicker proved costly.

A late try from former Bradford Bulls forward Jeff Wittenberg brought Batley a 12-4 win over York, who were drawing 4-4 at the interval.
