Boro sink Sunderland
Middlesbrough 2-0 Sunderland
 Carlos Marinelli and Michael Gray didn't waste any time getting stuck in
 Franck Queudrue marked his Boro home debut by opening the scoring
 Quedrue's strike buoyed the Riverside crowd as Boro seized control in the first-half
 Alen Boksic's weak header was helped towards goal by Jody Craddock's faint touch to put Boro two up
 Niall Quinn and Paul Ince clashed in the second half and Ince was sent off for his angry reaction
 Despite losing their captain Boro held on for a valuable three points and move into 13th in the Premiership
