After winning the F3000 Championship in 1989 Jean Alesi made the break into F1 with Tyrell

Alesi switched to Ferrari in 1991 and continued racking up the points for the legendary Italian team

After his victory in 1995 Alesi was picked up by Michael Schumacher after running out of petrol

Benetton beckoned in 1996 were Alesi finished fourth in the championship in each of his two seasons

Next stop Sauber where Alesi continued to score points before he endured an unproductive spell at Prost

The Frenchman is now at Jordan and the US Grand Prix was his 200th F1 race
