Gillings equalled her best X Games qualifying time, finishing in third place
Manx snowboarder Zoe Gillings is out of the Winter X Games in Aspen after sustaining a painful compression injury to her right foot.
Despite her injury, she came in third - 1.4 seconds behind behind winner and world number one Lindsay Jacobellis.
Gillings, 23, was said to be in excruciating pain and was taken to the medical centre for treatment.
It is thought the British number one will be fit enough to compete in the World Cup in Canada on 14 February.
Gillings' support manger Dan Brier said: "Zoe started the race with obvious signs of pain but she showed true fighting spirit and managed to claw herself into a qualifying third position for a majority of the course.
"Approaching the penultimate jump, she was forced to slow her speed due to the athlete in front of her slowing herself - this caused Zoe to lose too much speed going into the jump where she then landed short of the landing area severely exaggerating her initial compression injury."
