American Bode Miller sealed his second World Cup super-G title after coming joint fourth in the last race of the season in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
Miller, who only needed to finish in the top 11 to claim the title, managed to come fourth despite starting last in softening snow.
Aksel Lund Svindal won the final super-G race of the season with Benjamin Raich in second.
Raich now leads Svindal by just three points in the overall standings.
"You win the super-G title with two victories and a fourth place and you only have 300 points," said Miller.
"That's not normal to win a title with that few points."
Fritz Strobl brought the curtain down on his glittering Alpine ski career on Thursday when he waltzed down the men's Super-G course dressed as Mozart.
The 34-year-old Austrian wore a gold-and-black frock coat and a curly white wig over his helmet as he meandered down the piste.
The 2002 Olympic downhill champion earned an ovation from the 5,000-strong crowd at Lenzerheide.
