The winter resort of Bardonecchia will host the snowboarding - parallel giant slalom, half-pipe and snowboard cross.

Bardonecchia will host the snowboarding events
Did you know? The newly-built half-pipe is 130m long

The sizeable town is located on the Italian side of the Frejus tunnel, which links Italy to France, at an altitude of 1,312m in the Val di Susa.

Bardonecchia is 90 minutes from Turin, which can mean crowds, but the 140km of pistes are ideal for intermediates.

The area also boasts an Olympic village for athletes competing in Bardonecchia, Sauze d'Oulx and Cesana.

Bardonecchia has two venues that are about three kilometres apart, divided by the river Dora Melezet.

'Slope 23' will host the parallel giant slalom and snowboardcross, while 'slope 24' houses the newly-constructed half-pipe.
