Roethlisberger won rookie of the week nine times in the NFL season

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has won the NFL's rookie of the year award.
The award was decided by fans voting on the league's website.
Roethlisberger won all 13 of his starts and guided the Steelers to a 15-1 record during his first season in professional football.
He led all rookie quarterbacks with 2,621 passing yards and 17 touchdown passes and posted a passer rating of 98.1, fifth among all quarterbacks.
The Steelers advanced to the American Football Conference championship game where they lost to defending Super Bowl champions New England Patriots.
Seattle safety Michael Boulware, Tampa Bay wide receiver Michael Clayton, Detroit running back Kevin Jones and New York Jets linebacker Jonathan Vilma were other finalists for the award.
