The Utah Jazz are to retire John Stockton's number 12 to honour the point guard who spent his 19-year career with the team.
Stockton, the NBA career leader in assists and steals, retired after the 2002-03 season aged 41.
"We are excited to honour John in this special way," Jazz owner Larry Miller said Tuesday. "We look forward to hosting him and his family on 22 November.
"The evening will certainly be memorable."
Stockton will be honoured during Utah's game against the New Orleans Hornets.
His is the sixth number retired by the Jazz, who have also honoured former coach Frank Layden with the number one and former players Pete Maravich (7), Darrell Griffith (35), Mark Eaton (53) and Jeff Hornacek (14).
