Deion Sanders has signed to play for the Baltimore Ravens.
The 37-year-old cornerback, who retired from the Washington Redskins in 2001, passed a medical on Tuesday and has agreed to rejoin the NFL.
It is believed that "Prime Time" has arranged a £800,000 deal and could earn an additional £1.2m in incentives.
He is set to complete pre-season training with the Ravens and hopes to play in the against the Cleveland Browns on 12 September.
"This game is not all that complicated. We're going to try to ingrain him as quickly as we can," said Ravens coach Brian Billick.
"We have to make sure we know where he's at physically, but he's here early enough to have an impact."
Baltimore's Pro Bowl cornerback Chris McAlister said of his new team-mate: "He's one of the greatest of his era and maybe the best to ever play the game."
A superb all-round athlete, Sanders won the Super Bowl with San Francisco in 1994 and Dallas in 1995.
And he also went to baseball World Series with Atlanta in 1992, with the Braves losing to Toronto.
