Malone and Stockton were given a rousing send-off

Sacramento booked their place in the second round of the play-offs with a 111-91 victory over Utah.

Chris Webber led the Kings with 26 points and 11 rebounds while Peja Stojakovic scored 22 points as Sacramento clinched the series 4-1.

Bobby Jackson had 18 points and six assists for Sacramento, who never looked in danger of losing the match in California.

The game is likely to be the last time Utah's veteran pairing John Stockton and Karl Malone play together.

Malone finished with 14 points on 5-of-17 shooting, and Stockton had eight points in 28 minutes.

They were substituted simultaneously five minutes before the end of the game and were given an emotional standing ovation by the Arco Arena fans.

Sacramento will now face the winner of the Dallas-Portland play-off, which the Mavericks lead 3-2 after Portland won Wednesday's game to avoid elimination.

Zach Randolph grabbed 22 points and nine rebounds to help Portland to a 103-99 win.

The series heads back to Portland for game six as the Blazers look to become the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-0 deficit.

The Mavs won the first three games of this series and led most of the night in game five.

But Portland out-scored Dallas 32-22 in the final quarter to rally for the win.

Damon Stoudamire had 19 points and eight rebounds for Portland.

Bonzi Wells had 15 points and eight rebounds, while Rasheed Wallace added 14 points.

Scottie Pippen returned to the Portland line-up, but played just 16 minutes. He had nine points and added five assists.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 35 points and had 11 rebounds for the Mavericks, who led by eight points with 4:41 to play.

Nick Van Exel also added 25 points for Dallas.

Wednesday's results:

Eastern Conference quarter-final round:

New Orleans 93-91 Philadelphia
(Philadelphia leads best-of-seven series 3-2)

Detroit 98-67 Orlando
(Magic leads best-of-seven series 3-2)

Western Conference quarter-final round:

Portland 103-99 Dallas
(Dallas leads best-of-seven series 3-2)
