Marek Malik scored the winner as the Vancouver Canucks came from 3-0 down in the third period to beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 in
overtime.
Malik took a pass from Brendan Morrison and finished off a
two-on-one break 3:02 into overtime.
Markus Naslund had tied the game with his league-leading 38th
goal just 24.3 seconds from the end of regulation time.
Vancouver had been three goals down with just over 15 minutes left to play.
Trevor Linden and Trent Klatt scored the other goals for
Vancouver, while Sergei Fedorov, Henrik Zetterberg and Luc Robitaille registered for the Red Wings.
Jeff Friesen scored with less than five
minutes on the clock to give the New Jersey Devils a 2-2 draw with
the Philadelphia Flyers.
The result means the Devils
maintained their five-point lead on the Flyers in the Atlantic
Division.
Donald Brashear and Keith Primeau scored for the Flyers,
while John Madden notched New Jersey's other goal.
Mario Lemieux scored a power play goal in overtime to give Pittsburgh a 4-3 win over Edmonton.
