Dallas back on top

Ulf Dahlen of Sweden scored while sprawling to the ice Sunday as the Dallas Stars reclaimed top spot in the NHL with a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

Dahlen's 13th goal gave Dallas a 1-0 lead with 7:12 left in the second period.

Darian Hatcher added a goal 90 seconds into the third, and Jere Lehtinen also scored for the Stars.

With 81 points, Dallas again has the lead in the Eastern Conference, one point ahead of leaders Ottawa.

Ron Tugnutt, replacing injured All-Star goalie Marty Turco, stopped 19 shots, with only Vincent Damphousse getting past.

San Jose have lost five of its past six games, all on the road.

The Sharks, in last place in the Pacific Division 28 points behind the Stars, end their longest road trip of the season Monday at Los Angeles.
