Rodman in more trouble
Ex-NBA star Dennis Rodman
Dennis Rodman is no stranger to controversy
Former Chicago Bulls forward Dennis Rodman has been arrested on suspicion of obstructing police officers investigating a possible code violation at his restaurant.

Beach police in Newport, California, said Rodman had violated the Business and Profession Code, which restricts the sale of alcohol beyond 2am.

Police officers spotted cars in the seaside restaurant car park at 2.40am, and despite requesting entry, Rodman refused to open the doors.

Since quitting basketball Rodman has had more than 70 visits from Newport Beach police

At 3.15am, customers inside the restaurant were let out and Rodman was taken into custody at Newport Beach jail and booked at the Orange County jail in Santa Ana.

Rodman was later released and his case will be submitted to the Orange County District Attorney's Office for review, according to police sources.

The incident is just one of a number of brushes with the law that Rodman has enjoyed.

In 1997 he was suspended for 11 games for kicking a courtside cameraman, but it is his post NBA antics that have caused most controversy.

Since quitting basketball Rodman has had more than 70 visits from Newport Beach police over loud parties at his home and a conviction for drunken driving.

In November 2001 Rodman was ordered to pay $80,000 (£55,000) for rubbing a croupier with dice in 1997.
