Miami University Hurricanes have become the undisputed national champions after beating University of Nebraska 37-14 in the Rose Bowl.
Miami stormed into a 34-0 lead in the first half, largely due to Ken Dorsey, who threw three touchdown passes, two to record receiver Andre Johnson.
Dorsey and Johnson were selected as most valuable players of the night, but quarterback Dorsey had praise for the whole team.
"The entire team deserves to be most valuable player tonight, he said.
"Our defence stepped up to the challenge and did a great job. Our offensive line, receivers,
everybody did a great job against a great team."

They refused to give in, refused to flinch, and they got the job done

Johnson echoed his words, claiming that his performance was down to the fact that he "had something to prove."
Nebraska, beaten 62-36 by Colorado in their previous game, found no reply to Miami's speed and brave defence.
Hurricanes coach Larry Coker said his team's character had set them apart.
"They refused to give in, refused to flinch, and they got the job done week in and week out."
Dorsey had opened the scoring with a 49-yard touchdown pass to Johnson, on a night where he threw a career best of 362 yards, completing 22 of 35 passes.
Johnson obliged by catching seven passes for 199 yards.
In contrast, Nebraska managed in total only 259 yards, marking a poor day for quarterback Eric Crouch.
Their Heisman Trophy-winning star ran 22 times for 114 yards, completing five out of 16 passes for only 62 yards.
After the match, Nebraska coach Frank Solich had only words of praise for their opposition.
"We played a great football team in Miami and they were on top of their game, he said.
"We helped them with turnovers in the first half, and got in such a big hole, it was difficult."
The 70,000 or so Huskers fans had one moment of cheer in the third quarter through Judd Davies' 16-yard run, but by then the match had gone.
Miami can now bask in the knowledge that they are the only unbeaten team in the land.
For Nebraska, questions are now being asked about whether they even belonged in the Bowl
Championship Series' title game.
