Welsh triathlete Helen Jenkins wins 17,000

Jenkins finished in one hour, 59 minutes and 51 seconds in Iowa

Welsh triathlete Helen Jenkins won £17,000 at the Hy-Vee Elite Cup at Des Moines, Iowa, United States.

Jenkins, the 2008 world champion, was third in the women's event at the world's richest triathlon.

Australia's Olympic champion Emma Snowshill and her fellow team-mate Emma Moffatt finished ahead of Jenkins.

The men's event was won by British triathlete Tim Don, the 2006 World Champion banking £136,388 for his efforts.
