Briton Paul Amey won the duathlon world championship in Hungary on Saturday to reclaim the title he first won in 2005.
Amey pulled away in the final kilometre of the second 10km run to win by five seconds from Jurgen Dereere of Belgium, with Portugal's Sergio Silva third.
In the women's senior elite category, Britain's Michelle Dillon won silver, and her compatriot Alistair Brownlee got second in the junior male category.
"It's fantastic to have won this championship twice now," said Amey.
"I had a good first run and our lead pack managed to stay ahead of the chasing guys on the bike.
"That second run was very quick, but I just stayed relaxed and came through strongly at the end. It's been a great day."
Dillon said: "I am delighted with my silver medal. It's come off a lot of hard work and some good recent results, so hopefully I can build on this throughout the summer and the rest of the season."
