Webb undergoes hectic training schedule for Delhi
Bristol and England swimmer Richard Webb has adopted a rigorous training schedule to prepare himself for this year's Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
The 23-year-old breaststroke specialist from Chipping Sodbury has a strict training regime which starts everyday at 0600 BST in the pool.
Webb then goes to the gym and works in an office before returning to the pool.
"I think making the final in my event would be very realistic," he told BBC Points West.
"Once I'm in the final, I'm aiming for that medal. Fingers crossed if everything goes right, I'll be on that podium."
Webb, who trains at Bath University, is hoping that all the hard graft pays off when he joins some of the world's best swimmers for the 200m breaststroke.
Competition starts in Delhi in October when he plans to make all the hours of training pay off.
"Standing on poolside at six o'clock, knowing you've got two hours to swim is not fun," he admitted.
"Summer makes it easier with it being light outside when you get up but, in winter, you just want to go back to bed."
