Daley takes World Series bronze

Daley pleased with China performance

Tom Daley won bronze in the men's 10m Platform at the second leg of the Fina Diving World Series in China.

The young Olympian scored 540.70 in the final, his highest score in competition, to take third place.

The 14-year-old finished behind China's Qiu Bo who scored 542.25 and compatriot Luxin Zhou, who took gold with 560.00.

Daley dropped marks on one dive but will be boosted by his performance going into the Sheffield leg of the series on 18 April at Ponds Forge.

In the men's 3m Synchro Nicholas Robinson-Baker and Ben Swain were edged out of bronze place by the German team.

Robinson-Baker and Swain performed consistently but missed out on the bronze medal by seven points after a score of 430.58.

The gold went to the Chinese team who scored 467.25, silver was won by the Russians in 452.07 and bronze went to the German team with a score of 437.55.

In the women's 3m Individual, Olympian Rebecca Gallantree finished third in her semi-final with a score of 310.90, leaving her in sixth place overall.

In the men's 3m Individual, Ben Swain finished fourth in his semi-final with a score of 393.00 which left him in eighth place overall.
