Britain select big team for Euros
Britain have announced one of their biggest-ever swimming teams for the European Championships in Budapest.

A 64-strong squad has been named to compete in swimming, diving, open water swimming and synchronised swimming events from 26 July.

It is the first time since 1999 that Britain has sent a full line-up to a European Championships.

The size of the team is thanks to increased funding for the sport ahead of the 2012 Olympics in London.

UK swimmers enjoyed major success at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne earlier this year. "This cash has given us the opportunity to begin to build a strong team to take on the challenge of 2012," said British Swimming chief executive David Sparkes.

"It will enable our athletes to experience the best international competitions over the next few years, giving them opportunities to learn and develop into Olympic contenders."

Olympic and world bronze medallist David Davies has been named in the team after undergoing surgery on an infected foot in May.

Double Commonwealth champion Chris Cook has also been selected following his recovery from a groin injury.
