Manaudou may switch allegiance
Laure Manaudou
Manaudou won three medals in Athens
Olympic champion Laure Manaudou may change nationality over a dispute with French swimming's technical director.

Manaudou, who broke the 1500m freestyle short course world record last month, is distraught at comments made by Claude Fauquet in a magazine article.

"I read the article saying my record meant nothing and I was devastated," said the 18-year-old Manaudou.

Manaudou's coach Philippe Lucas said: "Laure will no longer wear French colours as long as Fauquet is around."

Manaudou, who won gold, silver and bronze in Athens, could race for the Netherlands as her mother is Dutch.

"There is a real clash, she is not respected," said Lucas.
