Daryl Selby upset world number one Nick Matthew to win his first British National Squash Championship.

The third seed from Essex came from 2-1 down to win 7-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9, 11-7 in an 84-minute marathon.

World number one Matthew was looking to win a record fourth domestic title, but Selby, ranked 10th in the world, proved too strong for the Yorkshireman.

In the women's final Lancashire's Laura Massaro beat Yorkshire's Jenny Duncalf 11-7, 9-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-2.

Selby has now claimed three titles on the squash circuit in 2011, having previously won a PSA tour event in Vancouver and the Edinburgh Open.
