Gulliver travels to victory
Womens world darts champion Trina Gulliver
Gulliver was a comprehensive winner
Defending champion Trina Gulliver claimed her third World Darts Championship title with a 2-0 win over Anne Kirk.

Gulliver piled on the pressure from the start, taking the opening leg against the throw with an 18 double nine checkout.

She won the second leg despite declining a shot at double five and instead opting for a two and a double four.

Although Kirk had the throw in the third leg it was all Gulliver yet again as she wrapped up the set.

But Kirk, who beat the favouite Francis Hoenselaar in the semi-finals, recovered at the start of the second set, getting in front of Gulliver against the throw in the first leg.

After Gulliver missed the bull while attempting a 121 checkout, Kirk secured the leg with 18 and double top.

Kirk claimed the second leg with a 16, double one, double 19 checkout as she tried to get back into the match.

But Gulliver got back into the set winning the next two legs and a 180 maximum in the fifth leg set the champion up for another title.

She sealed victory with a 93 checkout, completed by a double 12 to celebrate another superb victory.
