Oxford top Boat Race scales
The rival presidents with the Boat Race trophy
Oxford have weighed in a pound a man heavier than their Cambridge rivals for Saturday's boat race.
The two crews were officially weighed at the Hurlingham Club in London on Monday, with Oxford topping the scales, averaging 14st 8lbs per person. America's Dark Blue Luke McGee, will be the race's heaviest man at 15st 9˝lbs, while countryman Joshua West is the tallest at 6ft 9˝ins. However, the weight advantage may not necessarily hold Oxford in good stead as they aim to make up for last year's defeat. They controversially lost when the contest was re-started after only two minutes following a clash of blades. But the heavier crew has won just seven of the last 13 University Boat Races.
