Swail is added to NI Trophy field
Northern Ireland's Joe Swail
Joe Swail will play in the Northern Ireland Trophy
Northern Ireland's top ranked snooker player Joe Swail will take part in next month's Northern Ireland Trophy event at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.

The field is limited to the world's top 16 plus four wild card entries and Swail was not in the original line-up.

World number ten Stephen Lee has pulled out of the tournament as he is getting married so the Belfast player has been invited to take his place.

Ian McCulloch, Ali Carter, Mark Allen and Ding Junhui are the wild cards.

World champion Shaun Murphy is seeded number one for the event but Paul Hunter is unable to compete as he is still recuperating after cancer treatment.

The tournament runs from 17-21 August.
