McManus had to work hard for victory
Alan McManus finally beat Nigel Bond 10-7 after a marathon battle that dragged on for more than seven hours.

The pair had to return to finish off the match on Tuesday evening after running out of session time in the morning.

McManus had moved to within one frame of victory earlier on as he reached 9-3 but Bond refused to buckle.

He won four frames on the trot, which included a century in the 14th, before McManus ended the agony in the next.

"It's disappointing not to play well but there's such a lot of pressure out and this is a difficult place to play in when you are struggling," said McManus after his win.
